Catch me if you can

Someone or rather something is trying to play mind games on me. A mysterious entity has somewhat left its indelible mark on the bathroom floor. It all began a few days ago when I noticed the perforated lid on the bathroom floor (where water goes down) was slightly open. I always make it a point to close it before calling it a night. It has become a routine which I seldom miss to do.

However, a few days ago, I went downstairs to the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen to have a pee that morning since our link bathroom was occupied by the husband. Imagine my shock when the lid was partially open like someone had purposely done it. So when I asked the kids if they had used the toilet the night before, they immediately shook their heads.

This unusual occurence had me dumbfounded for days. To further enhance the myterious surroundings, there was no signs of leftover food or anything scattered around the place that could connect it to the one thing that had crossed my mind - a sneaky rodent!

Fed up with this hide and seek game, I decided to play CSI by placing a pail with half-filled water on top of the lid just as I was about to head to bed. The next morning, what I discovered was a small portion of anti-slippery mat being gnawed or nibbled by something and pieces of it scattered on the bathroom floor. I took pictures of the evidence and sent it via MMS to the husband to find out what he thinks. His answer confirmed my all along suspicion.

So tonight, I'm going to set a trap to catch the elusive furry creature once and for all. That ikan cencaru I had planned to cook tonight will certainly come in handy. I was told that rats love kepala ikan goreng.

Siaplah ko malam ini Jerry!

Jerry did not only gnaw the floor mat, he also viciously attacked my food containers. where's that bloody Tom when you need him huh?...ish3x

The mom song

Here's another song exclusively sung for all mommies out there. Enjoy!

All about a woman named Mom

A MOTHER

A Mother does not come with instructions attached titled, “How a mother should be”
There are no numbered, lettered parts to put together in sequence.
She does not come with all the right knowledge or all the right tools.
There will always be parts left over and more to learn.
She gathers them all along the journey,
And assembles her love that began even before you were born.
If you are lucky, you will have many mothers.
They will come to you in many forms along your way.
You will learn much of who you can be from this journey.
With her, you will learn, when she is there and when she is not.
Maybe more so when she is not.
She may be happy, she may be sad.
She may be a lunatic or a genius.
She will be all these things at one time or another
or all at the same time, On the same day, in one hour or one minute.
She will be different from you and she will be like you.
She will have a part of you and you will have a part of her, from birth.
Alive or dead, Away or near, in love or in hate,
She will always be there, there will always be more....
When she is gone from this physical, living world,
Her spirit will dance, tantalizing, lovingly, in your bones, forever.
You get to choose to let it torment you or set you free.
Her bite will be loving; even harsh words a caress.
She is there to watch over you, to hold you when you need comfort
To warn you when danger is near.
She will feed you and provide for you as best as she is able,
Soothe your hurts, pick you up and dry your tears.
If you will let her, she will do this all your life.
With courage, love and sometimes fear.
What she fears, she may never show you.
What she loves, you have to seek.
When you find and accept both,
Your hearts may rest together in love and peace.

(...poem was stolen from here...)

Every year, on that particular day of the month, without fail, there'd be that one special human being we'd like to tell the whole wide world how much she means a lot to us and all the million things she did for us that had shaped us the way we are today.

And just so happen that day is today.

Happy Mother's Day!

The M word

Ermm no, I'm not talking about the upcoming Mother's Day celebration which happens to be in this month nor am I affiliated with Astro's Hallmark channel in organising Mother's Day activities. I'm talking about mankind's worst disease ever and they have yet to find a cure for it since time immemorial. Yes, the dreaded MALAS disease!

The definition of MALAS in english:-
  • lazy
  • slothful
  • idle
  • sluggish
  • indolent
  • inactive
which perfectly described me as being right now. Which is also why this blog is inundated with witless pictorial of me in various photoshop poses hence the previous post. I sincerely apologize to my good readers who had to endure a 5 minutes of intense agony by looking at the pictures of a twisted narcissist. Not only had I tortured their souls, I had completely ruined history's most famous personalities by altering their faces and pasted it with mine. Poor Monalisa. She was totally clueless :P

I assure you that this is only temporary while I try to get my mojo back. Till then.

*Oh, just so you know, I'm trying to beat  this fler in World's 10 Most Laziest Blogger. I'm currently in the 5th anak tangga already. Woo hoo!

Date Night

Ekcelikan cerita ni cerita basi tapi aku tetap nak post kat sini gak. Heck, its my blog kan so suka hati aku la nak tulis apa kan. Muahaha!

Perghh, macam stail Penyimpan Mohor Besar Raja2 nak announce tarikh puasa kat TV tu. Ahaks, terlebih sudah.

Dah 13 tahun kahwin tak pernah sekali pun aku pegi dating ngan suami. Habis2 pun kitorang pi JJCM ngan satu family. Ataupun beli kek sebijik kat Resepi Rahsia. Gitulah.

Silalah tengok gambar... *ek eleh eksyennya*

tak hingat lak menu shrimp ni tapi memang sedap la. makan ngan jasmine rice dia yg bau harum tuh. udang ni mmg peberet kitorang...

pear & bear salad. so shedap!

Asben & Kak Ngah. Dalam pada tu sempat gak dia berpesbuking...ish3x

strawberry lemonade yg Kak Long pesan. kalau datang sini dia suka sangat order air ni...

since si Bee tak reti nak ratah udang cam kitorang, so orderkan dia french fries (ni mmg peberet dia pon). the portion is generous...kenyanglah dia makan

Selepas menghantar dorang ke rumah opah, kami pun apalagi terus ke kaunter GSC beli 2 tiket (Gold Class) Clash of the Titans pukul 7.45ptg pehtu beli another tiket cerita Date Night pukul 12.15am. Masa tengok list of movies kat screen list tu adalah ternampak cerita melayu ~ Semerah Cinta Stiletto and a few cerita cina tapi semua cam tak best. Cerita kartun How To Train Your Dragon macam tak sesuai la pulak sebab anak2 takde. Kalau nak ikutkan hati memang nak nonton marathon malam tu tapi 2 cerita tu lah yg dipilih sebab nampak best yang lelain macam hampeh.

1utama selepas pukul 2 pagi! wow...so sunyi sepi...kalau jalan sensorang ni mau seram gamaknyer!

balik ke hotel sebelah 1utama selepas wayang selesai. itu bukan jelmaan yek hanya bayang2 ku sendiri...*nak sedapkan hati sendiri masa post gambar nih*

TAMAT!

The sleeping beauty

I wish I had a bedroom just like this so I can have a perfect beauty sleep after a hard day's work. A romantic bed all by myself that I don't even wanna share it with the husband. Ahaks! Imagine me sleeping on it wearing a gorgeous princess-inspired pyjama made from the finest cotton with equally gorgeous bedroom slippers.

A perfect sleep on a perfect bed in a perfect bedroom!

Imagine my delight when Little Bee came back from school with a pack of jelly he made at school. Wah, now my son can cook desserts! I'm impressed.

Splendid!

Pukul 2 pagi

Macam bunyi orang turun naik tangga. Terasa dekat sangat. Masa tu aku terpikir sapa lak nak turun ni. Takkan suami kut sebab dia tengah lena tidur. Anak anak pun tengah lena dibuai mimpi. Aku buat derk jer terus jalan.

Bunyi PRAPPP kedengaran lagi. Aiseh, terus hati aku rasa cam tak sedap jer. Halamak, bunyi apa lak tuh. Memang bunyi cam tapak kaki. Haishh, aku pun bacalah apa-apa yang patut. Pehtu aku pun terus berlari ke bilik lintang pukang.

Keesokan harinya aku pun berceritalah kat jiran sebelah rumah aku tu, Kak Wan. Aku bagitau exactly apa yang aku dengar malam tadi. Dia pun terkejut badak. Dengar macam bunyi tapak kaki tengah malam. Suami Kak Wan ni kerja shift so memang biasalah balik time 2-3 pagi ke rumah. Kebetulan masa suami dia balik malam tadi, semasa nak naik ke atas, dia pun terdengar bunyi yg aku describe tuh. Tapi yang buat aku pelik tuh, masa suami dia dan aku dengar bunyi tu time jadik tu macam dekat-dekat jer. Pastu aku pikir balik. Kenapa yek?

Selidik punya selidik barulah tahu kenapa. Tangga rumah kitorang ni bersambung kat bahagian yg sama. So bila ada orang pijak kat tangga, bunyi pijakan tu boleh terdengar kat rumah sebelah.  Mula-mula aku rasa cam tak percaya sehinggalah aku terdengar sendiri bunyi orang pijak tangga kat rumah Kak Wan waktu siang. Bunyi tu lagi kuat kalau orang berlari turun naik tangga. Kalau berjalan cam biasa tak dengar sangat.

Rupa-rupanya malam yang aku dan suami Kak Wan terdengar bunyi orang pijak tangga tu sebenarnya bunyi tapak kaki kitorang sendiri. Masing masing berlari naik tangga nak cepat. Aku tak sangka suami Kak Wan pun penakut orangnya. Ceh, badan jer besar gedabak tapi penakut cam aku gak.

The Hate Group

I received quite a number of invitations from FB friends to join certain fan-based groups such as local and hollywood celebrities. Some recommend me to join the foodies group, the very popular among any groups. Not forgetting some family-related groups and hobbies-related groups which I found rather interesting. While I don't have qualms of joining these group, its the other kind of group that attracts my attention the most that it never fails to amuse me each time new category is created. Its called The Hate Group!

I have to say that Facebook has become a haven for hate groups. There are all kinds of hate groups sprouting like mushrooms lately. While most of them are quite harmless and even humorous in some ways, there are certain groups that were simply malicious and discriminatory in contents.

However, there is this one hate group that I'm more than willing to join and its - 1,000,000 million people hate AKADEMI FANTASIA!

Care to join moi? The more the merrier *ahaks!*.

*yours truly join this group merely for the sake of joining and not involve whatsoever in the discussions. however, after reading some of the status, she feels like creating another hate group - I HATE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO OTHER THAN HATE AKADEMI FANTASIA...*

Belangsukawa

Innalillahiwainnailaihirojiun...

Pagi tadi sewaktu menunggu van sekolah Kak Ngah, saya dikejutkan dengan berita kematian Din Beramboi, seorang pengacara dan deejay radio popular di tanahair akibat demam denggi berdarah.

Begitulah bila ajal dah sampai waktu, tiada sesaat pun ditunggu.

Wallahualam!

Hand in hand

Since Kak Ngah has a walking buddy, I seldom walk her to school. I only watch her from outside the gate till she's out of my sight. Her walking buddy is none other than her classmate and her name is Farissa. I always make it a habit to know my children friends' names and where they live. I also try to make friends with their moms because I personally think its advantageous in the long run - you know, when your children hanging out at their friends' places and you can call up their parents to find out what they were really doing? Things like that lah. You can never be too sure about kids these days. Pantau jangan tak pantau. Hehehe!

My mind is at peace knowing that she has a friend walking side by side to and fro school.

Without fail, Kak Ngah would kiss my hands and I always remind her to look right, left and right before crossing especially now the road heading to school has become a one-way route.

May Allah protect them from danger. Always.

True grit

If there's any woman out there who keeps complaining about her looks then this story might change her perspective forever.

Did anyone watch Oprah Winfrey show last night? I was shocked to see a faceless woman giving interview  about how she was mauled by her friend's chimpanzee. It must be a harrowing and traumatic experience for her. To show the whole world  her horribly deformed face takes a lot of courage.

If you could see the extensive damage on her face, you'd think that she would not survive the attack. But she did. She no longer has eyes, mouth, nose and a large chunk of flesh from her face. Her face was so hollow. It is so severe that no amount of plastic surgery could ever mend it. She also has difficulty eating solid food and her speech is slurry. Both her hands' injury were so severe (they look like they went through a meat grinder as the paramedics quoted when they found her) that only a thumb from her right hand could be salvaged. The facial muscle is totally damaged  making it hard to reconstruct face transplant.

Charla Nash before the attack...

Charla after the attack. because of her extensive injury she has to wear a veil so that people won't get scared looking at her. kesian kan?

what was left of her...

This particular episode touched the issue of having exotic animals as pet. As Charla said, these animals are dangerous and that they should belong in the wilds not living among the humans. No matter how tame they look, there's always that scary feeling when surrounded by these captive animals. They shouldn't belong in the zoo either. They should roam freely in the jungles.

To Charla, you are one truly remarkable woman.
