How many Bill Clintons do you think we have in our male politicians these days? Beats me. I'm guessing men will be men so there goes. If there is any I seriously doubt that they are man enough to admit their wrongdoings especially when they have committed scandalous affairs like what our Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek did. And what more, his scandalous acts had been taped in a DVD and circulated in the southern region at the time the news broke.
Ok, back to the issue. Does he need to be commended for admitting his mistake? I think, in my best opinion he should be. Why? Well, he admitted doing it in the first place and didn't go on making excuses like for example someone could have tampered the dvd or something like that. Most politicians will give all sorts of "explanations" when caught red-handed. But I always believe in karma. Any good or bad deeds one make in his/her entire life will be rewarded. It is only a matter of how sooner or later the rewards will be given. If you do good deeds you will get good rewards from life and even Allah multiplies it but if you do bad bad deeds like what this old bloke did, you will get yourself videotaped! If there's any lesson one could learn from this is that never let yourself becomes an easy target especially when you're a Somebody.
Hopefully with this news, more and more politicians will come forward and confess their wrongdoings. After all it takes a really good ball(s) to own up one's mistake. Just look at Bill Clinton himself. Sure everybody hates his gut back then but look at him now. He's going places, he wrote a book, his wife forgave him eventually and wrote a book about it too, he appears in high profile talk shows and concerts. He is worshipped by everybody. Suddenly he is a new man with new image. So it seems that life is going peachy for the former president. And I'm very sure in two or three years time, Dr Chua will get his life back and people will soon forget about his little misadventure. Who knows if he might write a book with cheeky titles like - MCA Confidential: The Chua Soi Lek story or How Viagra made me a Man or As Good As It Gets???
This year also sees my second daughter Kak Ngah joining her first year at primary school. She seems ok. A bit malu malu with the teacher and her classmates. But I'm not too worry about her as her big sister, Kak Long is a pro and will guide her thru. Kak Long is in Year 4 this year. The first thing Kak Long taught her was how to use her pocket money to buy snacks at the school canteen. Yesterday she came back with ice cream in her hand. She must have bought it at the vendor outside the school. Woo hoo hoo...
Now I'm left at home with little B by my side. Just the two of us. Life goes on.
