Death-defying act

One of Little B's favorite pastime when not turning the house upside down or fiddling with the TV remote is do staggering acrobatic stunts.

He has been thinking of joining the circus troupe when he grows up and his forte is, walking on a tight rope! So, before he can enunciate the words I want milk correctly, he has begun practising some balancing acts on the four legs of this yellow table.

Word of Caution :- Do not copy this stunt at home without adult supervision! *No pun intended*

according to Little B, you have to put your two hands firmly on the foot of the table before you can raise your legs up like this... (see pic below)

tadaa...that's how its done. Little B also said, if you're afraid of heights, don't look down. just peep at the camera and strike a cheeky pose..

and last but not least, give that pose a super magnum look ala zoolander style *in case you were wondering who the hell is zoolander, he's ben stiller in that movie, zoolander. if you still don't get it, nevermind lah...*

A day at the hospital

Late November last year, we went to DSH for Little B's medical check-up. It wasn't a routine check-up but an assessment merely to determine Little B's physical development particularly his lack of communication skill.

As he reached the age of 3 and still couldn't make up any recognisable words (he still blabbers in baby-talk), we think it was time to undergo the check-up his pediatrician had recommended, the BAER test and MRI scan. I wrote about this sometime last year.

Both test were conducted to check on any abnormality on Little B's condition. Thankfully, both test came out negative. Dr Musa was kind enough not to charge consultation fee but we were terkedu when we receive the bill. Terketar-ketar tangan tengok jumlah $$$$ yang tertera kat the bill. And since the test weren't included in the medical insurance cover, maka rabak lah poket kitorang for that month. Adoi!

Anyways, Dr Musa has been our kids' pediatrician since they were babies. He was like our family doctor. A good doctor he is.

mak budak tengah dok menunggu sambil memerhati Little B masuk gua. the pic was a bit blurry coz cameras weren't allowed in MRI room. boleh rosak gitu so bapak budak took pics from outside. Little B was sedated before going in and his ears were covered with headphone, takut terjaga coz the MRI is one noisy machine. radiologist tu kata bukan budak kecik je kena sedated, orang dewasa pun ada yang kena sebab claustrophobic...ish ish

the MRI scan in progress...

DJ Lil' B in action, spinning some funky songs, not! after the MRI scan was completed, we were asked to go for the BAER test. he was still sleeping soundly during the BAER test. Took almost an hour to complete it. mak budak pun sempat tidor kat sebelah katil. sabor jek lah...

the BAER graph in progress...

Since the results were negative, Dr Musa recommends speech delay therapy for Little B. We went home in late evening after spending one whole day there. Fuh, sungguh lah penat. End of story part 1.

Don't you hate it when...

...you had to give a title to your blogpost?

I mean its hard enough to come up with a catchy title let alone a readable story. Sometimes I wish I had a photoblog. Just post some pictures in it and write something related to it.

Whilst on the subject, I'm thinking of changing the title of my blog as well. Sleepless On The Side? Whoever needs to be sleepless all the time is seriously disturbed. And sleep on the wrong side of bed some more? Even our beloved Pak Lah who has probably one of the most busiest and demanding job in the world manages to get some decent sleep at night. I really envy that guy.

So, I feel its high time to change the blog title. I have a few in mind but still undecided of which one to choose. Maybe you can help me with this. Why should I bear this problem alone when I can drag you into this....muahahah!

Kan sharing is caring gitu...ahaks!

Tagathon

Since I jolly asked for it, I've had at least 5 or 6 tags to be answered. Here's one.

1. How has 2008 been for you in a nutshell?

a) besides getting a year older, life has been pretty swell. Think positive *wink*

2. Apart from your family members, name one person who has made you happy in 2008.

a) my best friend who got wonderfully married last year. if there was ever one person who could tell the whole world that TRUE LOVE does exist, she would fit the bill perfectly. I wrote about her failed relationships in the past here and here

3. Do you feel you are better off, or worse off, in 2008 than you were in 2007?

a) better off than 2007.

4. Where was the best holiday trip for you in 2008?

a) apart from the usual balik kampung trips, we didn't go anywhere last year. I reckon there is no such thing as the best holiday trip because every holiday trip should be a blast especially when they involve some generous amount of money and considerable amount of time to prepare...*chuckles*

5. Name 3 positive things that you have achieved in 2008.

a) if you count a 3 year old kid passed his toilet training with flying colors. no? thought so. other than that, pretty much nothing else..sigh!

6. Name the best movie you saw in 2008.

a) Little Miss Sunshine. I'm all for underdog movies. I want to watch Slumdog Millionaire for its rave reviews among film critics worldwide and nationwide. Sheesh, the movie has won best picture in the recent Golden Globe and is in the hot seat for best picture in the upcoming Oscar. Hurrah for the Bollywood! *however, am not die hard fan of Bollywood movies*

7. Name 5 friends that you have made in 2008.

a) define friends - casual, acquaintances, blogger...? most of my friends today I've known since I started this blog and they are ever growing. never met most of them but would like to one day...bila tu agaknya ek?

8. What New Year’s resolutions for 2008 that you have not achieved?

a) all of them...sigh! too many to put here...

9. What would your New Year’s resolutions for 2009 be?

a) be true to myself. less critical, less judgmental, less pessimistic, less writing crap (this is so hard to do), less mindless gossip and less just about anything. last but not least, that chevrolet captiva looks so captivating, isn't it? I wish...

10. Name 5 people you would like to tag.

a) Michael Jackson. I heard he embraced Islam and I'd like to know what ticks him off

b) Barack Huessin Obama. as if...

c) Najib Tun Razak - he's very popular nowadays with appearances here and there throughout the country.

d) Mawi - I'd like to know his honest view about marriage and what are his plans for 2009. will it include pitter-patter of tiny feet in 2009? will it get televised nationwide as his elaborate and grandeur wedding has? Only time will tell

e) Wook Kundur - for the non-conversant, this vibrant lady became hot topic last year coz she married a man 69 years younger than her age. I mean she's like what...106 years old?! Damn, I want to know her secrets. Seriously.

There you have it.

Sporadically yours

Oh my.

This blog needs a major spring-cleaning before yours truly decides to write crappy stuff again.

I'm done with hibernation. Slept too long to even realise that it is already 2009. Where did the last 5 weeks go (counting from the last post)? Did I miss anything? Contrary to popular belief, having too much beauty sleep will not make your skin glow or that it takes 5 years off your actual age. In short, being Sleeping Beauty is no fun at all. Its time to work that fingers again before they rot.

I'll be bach! *Watch this space*

*Tip #1:- Would-be idle bloggers trying to make a huge comeback in the blogosphere after a long hiatus, if you don't have anything intellectual or funny to write, post pictures. Then write witty or silly captions not more than 250 words. People will still read. Trust me*
